Help Support Jason's Urgent Brain Tumor Surgery
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
For those who don’t know me, my name is Lindsey Gaston. I am a very close friend of Jason Clements. I am setting up this GoFundMe page on his behalf.
I would like to share the turn of events that have led us here for those who haven't heard.
Jason returned from his volunteer trip in Africa on April 2nd, which is when he started not feeling very well. It was simple cold symptoms in the beginning. In the weeks after his return, he started having low-grade headaches, which are not common for him. He also started getting strange, intense smell sensations that would disappear as quickly as they came. He also experienced some cold tingly sensations on one side of his body.
Thankfully Jason has always been super healthy, so he was immediately concerned and went to get a physical and a series of blood tests done. The blood results came back all good, but he was still “just not feeling right.” The Dr then advised him to do a CAT scan. On May 19th, he received his CAT scan results. It showed a golf ball size growth on the left front temporal lobe of his brain.
He was able to get an MRI in the following days, which confirmed a very aggressive brain tumor. After seeing numerous neurosurgeons in San José, they all concluded it was imperative to operate as soon as possible.
The doctors are moving fast, which is great, but this also requires fast action on our end. Jason has surgery scheduled for this Tuesday, May 31st, to remove the tumor. Recovery will be 5 days in the hospital and then anywhere from 1-3 months recovery at home.
10 days after surgery, he will receive the biopsy results, which will tell what the next steps will be.
Right now we are just wanting Jason to focus on this first stage of removal surgery and recovery without the burden of financial worries.
Many of Jason’s friends have reached out, asking how they can help.
Of course, sending all the prayers and positive, healing vibes his way is beyond appreciated.
If you are financially able to donate, it would be an added blessing. Jason truly deserves all the support we can give him during such a difficult time. He is an incredible son, brother and caring friend to all. He is the guy that would literally give the shirt off his back to help a stranger out.
Any funds raised above and beyond the costs of his recovery will be donated to the orphanage he volunteered at during his time in Africa.
Thanks to everyone for your Support during this time.
We will be sure to update you as things progress.
