Help Support Our Sister and Her Family, Kim Dorow
Donation protected
Hello, our names are Kelly, Maggie and Andrea Dorow and we are asking for help supporting our sister, Kim and her family. On March 10th, she and her family flew to California to seek treatment for their oldest son, Lamar,
who has been battling pulmonary stenosis. In 2008 Lamar was born with Alagille Syndrome. He was diagnosed with pulmonary stenosis a few years ago in addition to carotid artery stenosis. It was recently determined that his heart is working harder due to the pulmonary stenosis. The Mayo Clinic referred them to The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford in Palo Alto, CA and their journey began. Once there, the team at Stanford recommended Lamar have pulmonary artery reconstruction with cardio pulmonary bypass.
On March 20th, Lamar went in for what was supposed to be a 12 hour surgery and ended up being 18, due to complications. The surgery was supposed to bring the pressure in his lungs down and instead brought the pressure up resulting in him being admitted to the ICU with an open chest and on full life support.
As of April 3rd, he is still on life support and their stay has been extended indefinitely. They are not sure how long they will be there and have two other children who are now back home in Minnesota with family. This has resulted in added expenses both in California as well as back home. We are trying to help ease the burden and stress of every families worst nightmare. Any donations received will help supplement the cost of travel to and from California, meals, children at home, and loss of income.
Thank you from the bottom
of our hearts.
