Help support our Warrior Queen

My name is Katrina and for those that are not aware as yet, my bestie, Tanya of 36 years has been fighting like a true Warrior Queen since her Advanced Ovarian Cancer diagnosis in June 2023.

This came as a huge shock to everyone that knows and loves Tanya, but even more so to her son, Aston and parents, Greg & Penny who have been by her side every second of this crappy journey! :(

Tanya commenced her chemo journey not long after her diagnosis and after her 3rd round, she was able to have surgery which was successful and such a huge relief! However, there was no rest for this one - she had to commence her last 3 rounds of chemo before further assessment. The surgery has taken a huge toll on our girl, especially when she has had to jump back on the chemo train whilst attempting to recover from this surgery.

I asked Tanya over 3 months ago whether she wanted me to support her in setting up a Go Fund Me and she flatly refused. Yes, we all know how stubborn she can be – but even more so, she is very proud of her independence and the fact that she has worked hard to support herself and her son as a single parent since he was born.

Long story short – our stubborn girl chose to soldier on – that is just the type of warrior she is, but has now exhausted her annual leave, sick leave and is taking leave without pay whilst she is home from work recovering. Unfortunately, she cannot apply for long service leave yet, or utilise her income protection benefits so I am taking matters into my hands!

Believe me, I know we are all facing higher than usual expenses of our own at the moment, but I felt the need to utilise this platform to reach out to any of our friends and family, just in case you might be in a position to contribute a little bit of spare change to help with general living expenses, at least until Tanya is strong enough to return to work. For someone who never asks for help, I am doing it for her - any little bit will help.
