Help Support Our Woodstock Coffee Shop Staff!
Donation protected
Our beloved, Woodstock community coffee shop, Esperanza, closed suddenly last weekend, leaving the staff with no income, and no job on the horizon. We are raising funds to support Ren, Alessandra, Axuni, Juan, Vinessa, and Melissa through this transition.
We've been informed that despite starting the negotiation process weeks ago to keep Esperanza in the Woodstock neighborhood, including presenting what was considered to be two incredibly fair and realistic bids, there was no agreement reached with the Landlords.
We are setting up this GoFundMe to raise funds for the current, lovely, kind staff at Esperanza, that made that space a community hub for the last year and half. While there are hopes of Esperanza opening again in the future, none of the current staff has any income lined up after Sunday, January 28th, 2024. We are hoping to raise enough to help them with general expenses to hold them over to their next job/paycheck.
If you have ever had the pleasure of experiencing the spirit of Esperanza, and the welcoming community the people working here have created, we ask you to please consider donating whatever you can to these beautiful people, and help elevate some of the pressure of suddenly being without income. Consider it your final Tip/Thank You, for some of the best coffee, and experiences you've ever had!
LASTLY: If you have, or know of any job openings, please reach out and let them know as all are actively seeking new employment.
*All funds raised will be dispersed evenly to each staff member by the team's manager, and non of the proceeds will be directed to Esperanza, or the owners of the coffee shop. This fundraiser is for the purpose of helping a few great humans on their way to new things.
