Thank you for taking the time to open this page. Our family is reaching out to ask for help. Our father, Ron Lacy, was involved in a serious accident due to the Winter Storm on January 8th, 2024 where he was ejected from the vehicle through his passenger seat window. He is extremely lucky to be alive, but he sustained serious injuries. He has fractures to his spine, a broken clavicle, fractured ribs, a fractured pelvis, staples in his head and a nasty concussion. By the grace of God, the only surgery that he will need is to repair his clavicle. We are extremely lucky to have him with us, let alone relatively no anticipated permanent damage but he is looking at a long road to recovery.
Our family is hardworking, and we take pride in our work ethic to do what needs to be done to provide for our family. Our father taught us this through his actions by always providing what we needed, even in times of hardship. Growing up, life was never easy for us but we never missed a meal, had a roof over our heads, and whatever else we needed. He always figured it out! He showed us that honest hard work and family will always get you through! He is an opinionated man, but he would give you the shirt off his own back if needed.
As you can imagine, asking for help is an extremely foreign concept for us but, recent events have put our family in a rough spot. Currently, my father owns and operates his mold remediation business and has served south central Missouri for years now. Due to the winter, his business hit a slow period, and this accident couldn’t have happened at the worst time. Right now, as a family, it will be extremely hard for us to cover his living expenses, let alone the medical bills that will result from this. Right now, our older sister is working hard to get as much covered through state and hospital programs as possible. However, due to him being uninsured currently, he will most likely be denied the quality care he needs. To put it bluntly, my father broke his entire body, and at 62 years old, we are unsure if he can continue his work after the fact.
I know times are tough in this uncertain world and it does pain our family to ask for monetary support but, we would appreciate any help that you can give.
