Sang Ho Baek, 20, of Salisbury, passed away suddenly from complications of surgery on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Tidal Health Peninsula in Salisbury. Born in Seoul, Korea, he was the son of Seong Han Baek and En Young Lee.
He was attending George Mason University and was a pitcher on the baseball team. He graduated from James M. Bennett High School in 2020 where he helped earn the school a Maryland State Championship. He attended the Korean Presbyterian Church where he was involved in the youth group and played drums in its worship band. Several years ago, he was on the YMCA swim team and played on the Aces and Canes travel baseball teams. He went on a mission trip in 2018 to Nicaragua where he helped to build houses for indigenous people, sanitized their houses, and taught Gospel to the children. He loved all types of music and enjoyed playing the drums. He also enjoyed swimming and surfing at Assateague National Park. He especially loved his mother's Korean cooking.
In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his sister, Sun Ho Baek of Salisbury, grandparents, an uncle, four aunts, and ten cousins in Korea.
All contributions will be going to the Baek family to assist them with funeral costs and medical bills.
