Help support Shannon's service trip to Guatemala

The older I get, the better I get at noticing the nudges! I was recently "nudged" when my dear friend Ali told me about a service trip to Guatemala to help out at an orphanage, that she signed up for. My heart instantly wanted to go when I heard about the mission. I have always wanted to go on a service trip, and this seems like the perfect opportunity!

This service trip is to help support the organization Orphan Resources International, whose mission and goal is to aid the children of this world, who through no fault of their own, have found themselves orphaned and alone. They supply physical necessities, counseling, and work teams to help with the care of the children in orphanages. ORI has been taking teams to Guatemala since 2002. Besides helping with the children, we will be doing whatever is needed at the orphanages, such as cleaning, painting, gardening, repairs to the facility and more.

Please consider a $20 donation, or any amount you are willing to give. This will be a week service trip, and the money I am raising will go towards my own airfare, housing and meals. Any extra money that is raised, I plan on giving right back to the organization.

There will also be an opportunity to donate a backpack stuffed with school supplies for the Guatemalan children. The organizer of the trip recently told me how excited they get from a single pencil! The money will be raised here and the backpacks will be purchased in Guatemala to reduce the cost of luggage, and help support the economy down there. More details on that soon!
