We are a team in support of Shawnee and her journey with Code Enforcement, in hopes to save her home. We need to raise the funds necessary for her to comply with Code, save her home and still be able to feed and raise her two grandchildren.

Shawnee has a home in a tree, as she cannot live indoors. Treehouses are not a dwelling that is easily permitted, because code enforcement and other government agencies do not consider it to be a fit home to live in. Which makes this case very unique and complicated. Code enforcement has deemed Shawnee's outside home unsafe and not up to code. They visited her property, frowned upon her way of living and fined her $11,320.00 at 10:16 am claiming Chapter 33 violations and at 10:19 am on the same day, fined her $11,481.50 claiming UNauthorized use within a single-family residential district. Shawnee has always lived outside of the box, literally and figuratively. She cannot live indoors and needs to live close to the earth and in alignment with her beliefs. A person should not be punished for this way of living, it should be celebrated. Her lifestyle is also very low impact and simple, which aids in the abundance of resources for others to simply live. Code enforcement (according to Google): A set of rules, or body of laws compelling those subject to their authority to behave in a certain way. There is no commitment to the creation of a safe environment for the community, so how are they to deem what is safe? Their only motive is to make REVENUE. They originally came onto her property to help and make things more "safe" with a rebuilding opportunity. But when she moved out of the apparent "unsafe" structure, more fines have arrived and they are now trying to force her to relocate once again.

Contractor $2000.00, Architect $2500.00, Lawyer $2500.00, Seminole Bloodline Certificate $800.00, Repairs and kitchen tare down $10,000.00, New Home structure $5,000, to allow tare down of old treehouse.
