Hello all,
On behalf of some of Sheyla's close friends, we want to share her story. As many of you know, we tragically lost our beloved friend, Jamal "Cap" Simon, on Monday, September 27th. He leaves behind his girlfriend Sheyla, their beautiful 7-month old son Qimat, and his family which includes his close knit friend group.

Many of you have kindly asked how you can help Sheyla and Qimat and this is it. Alleviating financial burdens is the most helpful thing we can all work together to do, especially during the already trying times of COVID.
For those of you who may not know Sheyla or Jamal personally, their love story started in the beginning of 2019 when they met in Boston. They fell fast. As Sheyla recalls it, "He messaged me a meme and asked to see me Sunday, I said yes and the rest is history". Since day one they loved to go on adventures in and around Boston, eating their way through the city, and going to some of their favorite art exhibits. In January of 2021, they were able to move into their Roxbury home, eagerly preparing for baby Q's arrival and to start their new life as a family.
This past year, in true Jamal fashion, he became the sole earner to allow Sheyla to focus on their newborn son. Now, we want to help take care of her financial needs so she can continue to be able to do just that.
Jamal was a fantastic father, veteran, loving boyfriend, loyal friend, brother, and son. If you ask anyone they will tell you how Jamal was always there for those he loved and loved him. He had great integrity, honor, and a compassionate soul. It's with great sadness that we return his gracious heart and show up for Sheyla and Q the way he showed up for so many of us in the past.
Along with your donation we encourage everyone to share a memory they may have with Jamal. We want to keep his memory alive. We love him and he will not be forgotten.
