Help Support Shibinsky & Her Family

#SupportShibinsky

Upon returning from vacation, our sister Shibinsky was rushed to the hospital by ambulance after complaining of severe abdominal pain. That day, August 28th we had no idea the type of chaos and trauma that awaited her.

Shibinsky spent two agonizing days in the emergency room, given no answers as to why she was experiencing such excruciating pain. Finally, after an assessment she was assigned a room in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However, as soon as she arrived, she was expeditiously whisked off to surgery, still without any explanation as to why. As you can imagine our family was panic-stricken and overwhelmed by the possibilities, but we remained in prayer without ceasing. (Thank you everyone for your prayers!)

{Backstory: For the past two years Shibinsky has suffered from abdominal pain. Throughout her medical journey she has seen multiple specialists, underwent numerous tests, prescribed medications to no avail and was reassured that she was fine. Over the course of these distressful years, previous medical providers scrutinized Shibinsky as they suggested the pain was cause by mental distress, not from any physical ailments in the body. The truth is, the severe pain were warning signs of major issues occurring within her body. Unfortunately, these ignored warning signs propelled her dangerously close to claiming her life.}

Once she was in surgery, the doctors were shocked to discover the source of her pain, which was coming from Shibinsky’s small intestine. Her small intestine was strangulating itself by tying itself in knots. Which ultimately led to the death of 90% of her small intestine. (For reference, the average length of the small intestine is about 18 feet.) This was just the first of three surgeries Shibinsky would endure in just the first five days, all while in a medically induced coma.
And  to compound a difficult situation, Shibinsky was pregnant with her second child. The trauma of the surgical procedures and the stress on her body was too much to live through, resulting in the lost of her baby.

Shibinsky has been slowly recovering in the ICU from this horrific ordeal, but her life and that of her family will never be the same. With the assistance of her medical team, we hope she will be healthy enough to qualify for a transplant sometime next year. However, during this time, she will not be able to work and is leaning on the support of family and friends to heal past this tragic time. It is for this reason we ask you to consider making a donation to #SupportShibinsky. Funds raised for Shibinsky will go towards covering costs left behind from her insurance, and after care while waiting for a transplant.
