Help support Snow on the long road ahead!

Donation protected
Hi Everyone, my name is Lauren and we are trying to raise some funds to help my Godfather, Snow, with the long road he has ahead.

At the end of August 2022, Snow took off on his motorbike with his trailer to take part in the annual Southern Cross charity ride which he attends yearly that helps raise funds for youth in need. On Friday 2nd of September Snow had left Emerald after lunch to continue on the ride when the drawbar on the trailer he was towing snapped and threw Snow from his bike at 100kms an hour.

Snow was rushed to Emerald Base Hospital in a critical condition. They then attempted to helicopter him to Rockhampton Hospital although his condition was to serious so they flew him with the Royal Flying Doctors to Brisbane and transferred him to The Royal Brisbane Hospital where he would be admitted to the ICU.

Snow spent just over two weeks in an induced coma with 10 broken ribs, broken shoulder and collar bone and multiple spinal fractures. With him only being born with one Kidney, three quarters of his kidney has died as a result of the accident leaving him needing on going dialysis plus many other aides.

Whilst in the induced coma, Snow stopped responding and they rushed him for an emergency MRI as they were concerned that his spinal cord had been severed.

After clearance from the MRI, Snow was transferred to the Trauma ward where he thankfully only spent a week and then was transferred again to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Having Snow closer to his home in Woombye, family and supportive community has been great although the unexpected accommodation, food and transportation has taken its toll.

Due to Snow being the main income for his family and the long road ahead things have become extremely tight. He still remains in hospital and is needing ongoing treatment and rehabilitation which does not come cheap.

What we are asking of you all is that we come together as one and help Snow who has helped so many others in his lifetime when he needs it the most. Being a Veteran who served 20 years in the Australian Army he now needs our help and support.

His partner Kylie, has been an absolute trooper and by his side the whole way. Kylie has had to put her job on hold for at least the next 12 months to be able to assist Snow with the regular medical appointments.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us already, it doesn’t go unnoticed, although unfortunately the journey is going to be longer than we first thought. If we all can help by donating and easing the financial burdens for him and Kylie, it will make the healing process a lot smoother and hopefully quicker.

Thank you all so much again, much love to you all.

Lauren
