Help Support Susan and Darrell Carr After the Eaton Fire

Donation protected

Darrell Carr remembers when Justin Carr World-Peace was four, and he prayed for World Peace. At 9, Justin wrote this note to Santa asking for world peace. After Justin died in 2013, we formed the Justin Carr Wants World Peace Foundation with a mission of Fulfilling Justin’s Promise Saving Youth through Art, Heart and Peace”

Darrell’s former student designed the gate that stood after the 2025 Eaton Canyon Fire! Justin’s favorite swim stroke was the butterfly. “ It made him feel free,” he once wrote. We are not alone on this journey that has been life-altering, life-changing, and, for some, life-ending. I know we are all in shock dealing with a natural response to a loss that will have no timeline or method of dealing. We are all connected and in shock; this destruction aftermath will be with us forever. I thank everyone — friends, family, and strangers- for all your compassion during these challenging days.

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our dear family friends, Susan and Darrell Carr, who recently lost their Altadena home in the devastating Eaton Fire. In a matter of moments, they lost everything—their home, cars, personal belongings, and cherished memories.

During this incredibly difficult time, we are working together to raise funds to help Susan and Darrell rebuild their life. Every dollar raised will go directly to helping them cover immediate expenses such as temporary housing, essentials, clothing, and eventually the rebuilding of their home.

Susan and Darrell are deeply embedded within the community. Susan is a lifelong member of the USC Trojan Family. Both Susan and Darell have dedicated their life to helping others, and now is the time to help them. We know that with your generosity and kindness, we can help the Carr Family through this challenging period and support them as they start to completely rebuild from this heartbreaking loss. Please consider donating what you can and sharing this page with others. Every contribution makes a difference.

Thank you for your love, support, and compassion during this unimaginable time. Please keep them in your prayers.

With gratitude,
The Family/Friends of Susan & Darrell Carr

(We are fellow Trojans and a few of the hundreds of students that Susan has helped achieve their dream of attending college. All money will be sent to Susan & Darrell Carr)
