Help support Terri and Skyler Phillips

As many may have heard by now, Terris fiancé tragically passed away on Sunday, May 1 in his home.

Terri and Her fiancé bought their house in 2020. They had plans on fixing it up and making it their home together, along with their 2 kids. In November, they became engaged to be married, although no plans had been made at this point for the day.

Not only is Terri dealing with the grief of losing a loved one, but the ripples of the circumstances surrounding his death are causation for her needing additional time to deal with all the emotions that come with this loss. The normal stressors of life are still present and Terri’s son is set to attend his senior prom, graduation ceremony, graduation party, and celebrate his 18th birthday within the same month of, now, losing a loved one. What was expected to be an exciting time in the household has now been replaced with grief and trying to figure out how to complete basic everyday tasks alongside these milestones. Several projects are underway at their home currently and left unfinished which adds another level of stress to the equation.

Although Terri’s boss has been very understanding, there is only a set amount of days she is able to be off work. I am sure we can all empathize with the lack of help grieving individuals get outside of receiving a few days off work. Bills still show up in your mailbox and obligations are expected to be met, all while your world has crashed around you. Unfortunately, in a lot of ways you are expected to just continue and pick right back up where you left before your tragedy occurred.

That is why we have decided to set up this GoFundMe; to help ease the burden of the financially stressful side of this terrible event for Terri. With it already being a historically expensive time for practically everything, it is going to be difficult on her as she navigates keeping her mental health stable, finding a new normal in their home, being a single parent, and dealing with the unexpected expenses a tragedy brings.

If you are able to offer any amount of money, a wishful thought, a recommendation on aftercare, a prayer, or just a hug to Terri and Skyler during this time… all are appreciated. We have also set up a Meal Train should you choose to show support in the form of comfort food. There are sign up slots for visitors on there as well. You can use this link to reach it: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/08zyoz
