Help support the amazing Richard Yaeger!

Hello, this is Richard Yaeger's husband Chris Ryan. You're visiting this site because you know and LOVE Richard Yaeger. You also might know that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2021. The last two years have been rough for him medically and for us emotionally and financially.

While we have good health insurance through my job, our private insurance does not cover home aides or a host of other medically related expenses. We're currently in the (long and arduous) process to get Richard qualified for Medicaid. Should he qualify, that would, in theory, provide some support for a home aide.

But while the Medicaid process inches along, sadly Richard’s condition has progressed, and he can no longer be home alone while I am at work. He needs help with basics like meals, showers, and getting dressed, and is at risk for leaving the apartment and getting lost. We also have growing transportation expenses for his many medical and physical therapy appointments.

Paying out of pocket for a home aide will be very expensive indeed, even to cover just a few days a week when I can't work from home, and your help would be greatly appreciated.

Those of you who see Richard regularly know that he is still as funny, irreverent, and charming as ever. In many essential ways, he is the same friend and compatriot that you have known and loved. He cannot ask for your help now, so I am asking. We appreciate it so much.
