In Loving Support of the Cervantes Family
We, here at San Antonio Christian School are deeply saddened to share the tragic news that Karla Hernandez, mother to our 2nd grade student Johnathan, daughter to Jorge Hernandez Sr, and daughter-in-law to our beloved Cervantes family, passed away early Sunday morning, February 28, as the result of a car accident.
Karla was a charismatic and enthusiastic young woman. Being a loving mother to her son was her fulfilling purpose. Her smile was illuminating and her spirit, delightful. Beautiful, both inside and out she always brought cheer into a room. The energy that she portrayed was fun-loving and tender – hearted. She was an independent and hardworking person that will never be forgotten.
The family is understandably devastated by this unexpected and tragic loss. Losing a loved one is always difficult but coping with a sudden loss adds a different element to the grieving process. Financial stressors compound this grief.
With this in mind, SACS has started a fund to assist with Johnathan’s care, funeral costs, and other expenses that may arise. Hopefully, this will alleviate some of the financial hardship for the family. Johnathan is a beloved member of our school family as is the entire Cervantes family. Sandra and Sarah Cervantes have been employed at our small Seventh-day Adventist school for a combined 25 years.
It is in these times of loss and sadness when people come together to make it through, to support the people we care for and to be Jesus’s voice fulfilling His commission to “love one another.”
Any expression of support you can give would be greatly appreciated. Please keep the Hernandez and Cervantes families in your prayers during this season of grief.
