(A quick summary of the video) Howlers Hatchet House is going to be an amazing axe throwing venue and lounge, located in Columbus N.J.! We started our journey back in October of 2022, and we have come a long way since then. Our road included several months of working with a zoning lawyer and public planner, ensuring we met all the needs of the township's zoning approval. We were granted our zoning approval in February 2023. Our next step was bringing in a designer (architect) and working with him to cover all other aspects of our venue such as plans for electrical, plumbing, construction, fire, safety, and accessibility. The first part of this process has taken another 3 months. During that time we started all the processes of the business such as registering legally with the federal and state requirements, acquiring personal and business insurance and workers comp., getting our booking system in place, creating merchant and employee accounts, as well as doing any building repairs and decorating that we are allowed to do without permits, and building our lanes and reception area that will eventually be attached to the floors and building once we have the permits. During these seven months, we have also been paying our rent and utilities. Up until this point we have invested over $70,000 into the project. Recently, we found out that we need to do several more improvements to the building to get it up to code for our use. These require but are not limited to more work from the designer, township approvals, and several weeks of additional construction. We estimate a total of 4 more months and an additional $55,000 in cost. Does that mean the campaign fails if we don't reach $55,000? Absolutely not! We are pushing ahead and will make this happen! Any goal we reach will be a tremendous help!
