Help support the Ezekiel Byrd Family
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Joanne Pasternak and I am fundraising for my Son in Law-Ezekiel, my Daughter-Kylie and their 4 little girls, Clara (5 yrs old), Irie (3 years old), Zayana (2 years old) an Azariah (10 months old). My Son in Law was in a horrible car accident on Sunday, 4/30/23 while he was on the way to the grocery store.
Unfortunately Ezekiel never made it to the store and instead my Daughter Kylie received the heart wrenching phone call that Ezekiel was in an accident which involved the vehicle that he was in veering off of the road, hit a utility pole, flipped 4 times and that he was thrown from the vehicle.
So far, Ezekiel has lost a lung that was beyond repair that the doctors had to surgically remove, his other lung is struggling. The Doctors have Ezekiel on ECMO treatment where his blood is pumped outside his body to a lung machine that removes carbon dioxide and sends oxygen-filled blood back to the tissues, this is to hopefully promote healing with his struggling lung.
Ezekiel's brain remains swollen, the bleeding has worsened. The Doctors have done a Neuro test to better determine his prognosis as his eyes started to flutter at times, he squeezed my Daughter's hand and his fingers twitched.
Unfortunately the results of the test were not good and due to the impact and bleeding in his brain being more severe than it originally was, it is the opinion of the medical team that his movements were not coming from him or his brain stem.
Ezekiel is currently on dialysis for his kidneys and also has a laceration on his liver. A hole has been drilled in his skull to assist with alleviating the pressure off of his brain with no success. Ezekiel remains critical condition at this time.
Ezekiel is a loving Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Cousin, Son in Law, Friend and would give you the shirt off of his back and the last dollar that he had just to help others. Watching him with his little girls and the way that they looked at him with love and admiration would warm anyone's heart. Ezekiel was the bread winner, working multiple jobs if needed while my Daughter raises the girls while going to school online.
I am asking on the behalf of my Daughter and Ezekiels Family for your assistance with donations to help aid with travel expenses back and forth to the hospital, household expenses/bills, and medical expenses as a majority of the treatment that Ezekiel is currently undergoing is out of network, ongoing medical treatment if he pulls through. If things take a turn for the worse, resulting in Ezekiel not pulling through this, he unfortunately didn't have a life insurance policy (What 25 year old thinks that one is needed) then more expenses will be something that my Daughter isn't prepared to deal with.
Any contribution is appreciated and will contribute to Ezekiel's Family, his mediacl bills, his hopeful recovery or his celebration of life.
Thank you for your love and support.
