Our mother, Eun Mi Kim, was diagnosed with diffuse and undifferentiated stomach cancer about two months ago.
We were able to get her into an extensive 8-hour surgery to remove the adenocarcinoma, and now she is at home recovering. Currently, she is very weak and has lost a massive amount of weight. However, a biopsy post-surgery showed that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, although it was still in the T1a stage. The type of cancer she has spreads at an alarming rate and has unpredictable behavior. The doctors have confirmed that she will need to go through a couple sessions of chemotherapy in hopes of recovery.
Our mother is our best friend and an incredible individual who never fails to put others before herself. She’s been through a lot of struggle and has lived her life working for her family, and we want to finally give back to her.
We created this fund because we want to reduce the cost and the financial burden that will be on our parents shoulders. It is every child’s worst nightmare to hear that their mother is sick, and we want to help her fight through this. As we are all students, our funds are a bit tight in paying for her upcoming treatments. Even with a lot of work study and part time job hours, we cannot help as much as we would like to. Any support during this hard time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
