Help Support The Loria Family After A Tragic Car Accident

On the evening of August 21st, 2024, the lives of the Loria family were irrevocably changed by a devastating and fatal car accident. While returning home from a family vacation, Joanna Loria and her three children, Sophia (17), Giuseppe (16), and Alessia (13), were struck head-on by a vehicle driving on the wrong side of a divided highway. Despite his severe injuries, Giuseppe managed to open the door for his mother, and break the car windows and pull his sisters to safety as flames engulfed their vehicle. The accident left the Loria family in critical condition, with the vehicle and personal belongings completely destroyed.
Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Alessia succumbed to her injuries.
Alessia was a vibrant, intelligent, and beautiful young girl who brightened every room she entered. Full of life, energy, and enthusiasm, she was always ready for the next celebration. Alessia was a talented ballet dancer, often dancing instead of walking her way around. Alessia was focused on performing with the Alberta Ballet, The Nutcracker, this year. When she wasn’t dancing, Alessia expressed her creativity through art. She built friendships on pillars of love, respect, and unwavering care and kindness. Her politeness, well-mannered nature, and warm heart made her the total package, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck this family already 11 years ago when Joanna unexpectedly lost her high-school sweetheart, husband and the father of their three young children, Saverio Loria. Joanna now must navigate and rebuild her and her children's life for a second time. Still hospitalized, Joanna now faces the unimaginable challenge of grieving, healing, and supporting her surviving children, Sophia and Giuseppe, who also remain in the hospital in serious condition. The emotional, physical, and financial toll on the family is overwhelming, exacerbated by the sudden loss of Alessia. Both individually and as a family, they face a long and difficult road to recovery. The family needs all the love and support during this heartbreaking time.
