Help support the Marinier family fight cancer

I am making up this GoFundMe for my foster brother/cousin, whom me and my family, consider as our immediate family, to help raise funds through a very difficult time my cousin and his family have been going through for months.

After an extremely difficult 2024 for the Marinier family, the end of the year came with yet more shocking and devastating news. On December 17th, 2024, Charles Marinier, husband and father, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer during a colonoscopy. This was not something the family was prepared for after a very difficult 2024.

Earlier in 2024, Charlies family had way too many extremely close and personal losses. In March, Charlie lost his close personal friend Gary (59) of many many years. In early May, Charlie and his wife lost their second oldest son Carter (31) and less than 3 months later, lost their oldest son Anthony (33). In that same month only 1.5 weeks after losing Anthony, they lost Charlies Mother Rachelle (75). The amount of heartbreak that the family has suffered in 2024 is already way too much. Due to the passing of 2 sons, a close personal friend and Charlies mom, Charlie needed to take time off work to cope, as well as his wife Nancy. The family lost significant finances and have been trying to recover ever since.

The cancer diagnosis is stage 3 colorectal cancer which has spread through all layers of the bowel to the surrounding tissues and has also spread to nearby local lymph nodes.

Charlie will need at least two surgeries, possibly three surgeries, and he will require months of chemo and radiation which will put him off work for up to a year. This is a lot of wages lost after this family has had so much loss emotionally and financially in the lasts 10 months. Charlies tumour has grown so large that it has almost obstructed his bowel. This may be why he might need a 1st surgery soon to help him get through the blockage until radiation and chemo are finished and the tumour can be removed. After the tumour removal surgery he will likely need a reversal surgery.

Charlie and Nancy still have 3 children, 2 of them teenagers at home who require their finances and attention. They also have a mortgage to upkeep along with vehicles and all the other bills we all have to upkeep in our daily lives.

We, as Charlies many siblings and close family and loved ones are hoping to help with their financial burdens by making up this GoFundMe to help with the costs they will have through his many months of suffering that he and his family will have to continue enduring in the upcoming months of 2025. Since they have suffered so much in 2024, I and his loved ones hope to help him to focus on his battle and his recovery which will be very difficult for him, his wife and children and all of us who love him dearly.
