Help support the mother of Nicolas Elizalde

Nicolas Elizalde was thrilled to be a new freshman at Walter B. Saul High School in Philadelphia and even more excited to be part of the football team at Roxborough High. Nick was known to be a gentle, compassionate and caring young man; now, Nick's family and friends are grappling with the tragic reality of the horrific event that ended his life on September 27, 2022. Nick and several teammates were leaving the football field at Roxborough High School following a scrimmage when five gunmen ambushed them, firing more than 60 shots. Nick's mother, Meredith, was waiting in her car, and when she heard the shots, Meredith ran to try to protect her only son. When Meredith reached Nick, he had already been shot in the chest. Nick died in his mother's arms. Although Nick was not the intended target of this reprehensible crime, that does not ease the anguish and devastation that Nick's mother and extended family are left to deal with. As a way to help ease the unexpected funeral costs and medical bills associated with this nightmare, friends of Meredith Elizalde have established this GoFundMe. While no amount of money will ever heal the gaping hole in Meredith's heart, donations to help relieve the financial stress associated with this tragedy are appreciated.
