Help support the Parr Family
Update:
With a heavy heart, we have to update this page with the news that Jim passed away on October 11th. While he was not able to make it home, he did go to a hospice center where he was able to see and talk to his girls and where Nicole, his mom and brothers stayed by his side.
Jim got to witness all the outpouring of support you all gave to his family. They remain blown away by your generosity. While funds weren’t able to be used to care for him at home, there remains medical bills, as well as the care of his girls, and the donations will help support this amazing family.

On behalf of the Parr family, we have set up this page and we are asking for your help. Jim, who is only 38 years old, was diagnosed with goblet cell carcinoid, a rare form of cancer and is facing a difficult and heartbreaking prognosis. He has suffered many complications and they are not able to treat his cancer. His medical team told the family to prepare for a prognosis of months.
Jim has been in-patient at the University of Michigan Hospital for several months and hospitalized for almost the entirety of 2020, but he longs to be home with his wife and kids so that he can spend as much time with them as possible. Due to Covid-19 his daughters are not able to visit him.
We hope that being home will assist the family in this trying time and help them so that Jim can spend the time he can with his beloved family. In order to be home with his family, he will require 24-hour skilled care (which is around $35k/month). Contributions will go toward payment of in-home care and other medical expenses.
A little more about this wonderful family:
Jim and Nicole met while attending high school at Walled Lake Central, graduating in 2000. Friends during high school, they did not start dating until after college. They are celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary on September 18, 2020. They have two beautiful daughters, Haley (8 years old) and Kamryn (5 years old).
For those of you who know Jim, you know he is a fun-loving and all around loving guy. For those of you that do not know him, Jim is an amazing person. He is a loving husband, brother, son, dad, and an all-around admirable friend. He is the model for the best "girl dad”. His girls miss him so much and he deserves to be home with his family. His positivity and warmth is undeniable and contagious. This unthinkable illness has struck him during an unthinkable time in our world. This diagnosis has been devastating for Jim and his family and seems like it couldn’t come at a worst time. We are all living through a global pandemic which is stressful and only complicates things for the Parr family. Nicole has been juggling caring for Jim and her girls as well as returning to work during this pandemic. We want to help lessen one source of stress.
They are both such humble people and have been hesitant to ask for help. We have started this fund on their behalf. If you have the means, any contribution is appreciated and will go to helping this amazing family. If you don't, prayers/positive thoughts are needed too!
