Help Support the Shaath Family in Gaza

Dear friends,

We are reaching out to you to support the evacuation of my family in Gaza. The war on Gaza is beyond catastrophic forcing my family to be displaced many times over the past 5 months. My family’s home in Gaza City, a home that housed many generations, has been destroyed. They were nearly killed by bombs and shellings on multiple occasions, and they miraculously survived.

Please help us reach our goal of $50,000 to help evacuate my cousins, my aunt, my cousin’s wife, and my cousin’s two young children including a baby, a total of 9 people. The funds raised will help cover the costs of their evacuation to and resettlement in Egypt. Your financial support no matter how small, means the world and will get us one step closer to securing my family safety in the midst of the unrelenting bombardment in addition to the daily struggles they face to find food and shetler for basic survival.

It is extremely challenging to get out of Gaza and is how you can help. Financial support is a key component. The journey to Egypt is treacherous despite it being a few miles away. The border crossing is hard because everyone waits 9 hours at the border crossing before being allowed transit after waiting days to be approved to cross by Egyptian authorities.

The border area is continually targeted with artillery shelling and the journey is not safe, but it is the only way towards ensuring my family's survival because of the daily bombardments, struggle to find food & clean water and the spreading of disease that continue to threaten the lives of every Gazan on a daily basis.

In addition to getting my family to safety, we are hoping there will be enough money raised to help support my cousins start to reassemble their lives, including basic items like shelter and food and medical care for three of my cousins who are deaf and have developmental disabilities. My cousins lost their home and are currently displaced living in a tent. Everything that was in their house is gone and they were only to bring a small number of items that they could carry so they will be starting from scratch.
