Transplant Fund for our Beloved Pop,Glenn Slattery

Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family,

My name is Blake Slattery. and I am reaching out to seek support for my dad, Glenn Slattery and his wife Pam. Dad is facing the challenges of battling Non-Alcoholic End Stage Liver Disease and has been in crucial need of a Liver Transplant for the last year & half.

Two weeks ago we received amazing news that a very selfless stranger has made the decision and has been approved to be a living-donor for him. This is clearly an incredibly selfless gift of life for Glenn, and we are beyond thankful and blessed that he will get to continue his life with renewed purpose thanks to our new friend. It is truly the most selfless act and is the greatest blessing one could receive.

With that, his surgeons have also determined his Transplant Schedule for February 26, 2024!

With humility, I would like to take this time to ask for your help in offsetting some of the additional expenses that are quickly approaching. Glenn will need to be out of work for ~4-6 months after surgery while only receiving partial income on disability.

The money raised will go towards the significant Post-Operative expenses below:

- Glenn will owe roughly $6,100 to the hospital after insurance coverage for his stay and operation.

- The original plan was to do his post op follow ups in Fort Worth but this has been changed and they were notified last week they will need to stay in Dallas near Baylor UMC for 6-8 weeks during the recovery process. This is an unplanned housing expense of ~$7k which is nearly impossible on half of one salary and will severely impact their lives.

- Glenn will be required to take anti-rejection medications for the rest of his life. Even with insurance, the out of pocket expense on just these is significant.

- The money raised will also be used to assist in offsetting lost wages, out of pocket insurance premiums and any unexpected complications, hospital stays during his recovery. Our goal is intended to cover the family’s additional expenses during this time of uncertainty and no more.

ANY amount would be a blessing and will help more than imagined for Pop to return to his family.

My dad is a man of many things and is such a blessing to those around him, he shows compassion, kindness, respect and dedication towards everyone and everything he encounters . He has been incredibly optimistic and has shown amazing strength and courage throughout this entire process. He has always remained true to himself and to those around him. He is a supportive, caring and loving husband, father, Papa to his three grandsons, and friend to many. This journey has been tough for him and for those whom love him dearly and though we are seeing GOD'S work in action, the journey is not yet over but is only approaching the next phase.

Just a few years ago, Glenn's wife faced an uphill battle after a series of serious life threatening illnesses. They were forced to sell their home in GA during Covid and move to Texas to be near their family. It has been difficult for them to recover financially and although this blessing of a transplant if needed, they were not prepared for this obstacle.
All your Prayers are welcomed and needed.

Thank you for taking the time to support this Wonderful Man
