Help Support The Zambra Staff During This Challenging Time

My name is Janae Walker. I am the General Manager at Zambra in downtown Asheville. Like many of you, our staff at Zambra has been devastated by Hurricane Helene. We have a staff, really a big family of right around 30 employees.

We were headed into our busy season when all of a sudden, business and income came to a drastic halt. Many of our hardworking staff members count on this month and the next two to survive during the January and February slow season. While we hope to reopen our doors as soon as possible, there is still uncertainty as to when or who will come to Asheville. Zambra, being downtown, relies on tourism. Some sources say it could be 6 to 8 weeks before we have water. So a few months before we can open.

Many of our staff members have been out volunteering to help those in need. It’s pretty amazing how they are out helping our community while they could be struggling financially soon.

I am asking for donations that can be distributed amongst the staff so they can pay their bills while they are unemployed.
