Help Support Tracy’s Fight Against Cavernomas!

Hello everyone,

We urgently need your help to save the life of our beloved Tracy. She is a 53-year-young woman who is battling against cavernomas, aka cavernous malformations, and we are reaching out to our community to ask for your support. We are calling our mission #TeamPurplePenguin because of Tracy’s love for purple and penguins!

As many of you know, Tracy has always been a fighter, but this January, she was diagnosed with two cavernomas that have turned her life upside down. She has one cavernoma in her brain stem and one in her spinal column at C-5. These cavernomas have caused Tracy to become paralyzed from the neck down with a tracheostomy and on a ventilator. Seeing this vibrant, energetic, busy young woman fighting to recover is devastating. The treatments required to combat this condition are costly, and her family's financial burden has become overwhelming.

As a result, we have started this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to cover Tracy's medical expenses, including doctor visits, hospitalizations, surgeries, medications, and ongoing care. The funds raised will also help with transportation costs to and from medical appointments, necessary medical equipment, and home modifications to improve Tracy's quality of life.

Here are some of the things #TeamPurplePenguin is working on Tracy’s behalf:

• Acquiring a Clinitron bed – These beds are only prescribed AFTER bed sores are an issue – we want her to have one to PREVENT these from occurring.

• Technology to assist Tracy with communicating and living. We have reps from Tobii/Dynavox and Eyegaze Edge coming to let Tracy test-drive their technologies to see which she prefers and which is best for her.

• Most importantly – getting Tracy’s records in front of every advanced medical facility that has successfully treated these cavernomas. Penn Medicine, Johns Hopkins, Barrow Neurological Institute, Cleveland Clinic, etc.

Tracy is not just a patient but also a loving sibling, friend, and coworker who brings joy and inspiration to those around her with her big smile, a friendly wave, and hello. She has always been there for others; now it's our turn to be there for her. No one should face a serious illness alone or struggle to pay for the necessary medical care.

Tracy’s love for music has kept her working in the Pittsburgh music industry for almost 30 years! From DiCesare Engler to SFX to Clear Channel to her current position as Senior Coordinator of Premium Sales with Live Nation, she has dedicated her life to bringing the best music to Pittsburgh and providing fabulous customer experiences. Her incredible work ethic shows Tracy’s dedication and love for the industry. Long days and nights are the norm, especially during the summer concert season. She is well-loved (and missed) by her customers and coworkers, who all cheer on her recovery.
