Help Support Winnie's Medical Expenses

Monday morning on April 4, 2022, My mom Winnie, was doing her routine duties opening the Onion Tea House Restaurant, when an individual being pursued by the police, confronted her with a gun.  She was alone in the front when he asked for her car keys.  She did not want to put anyone else in the restaurant in danger by screaming for help, so she complied, thinking he would just take the car keys and go.  Instead he took her hostage at gunpoint. At some point, she was thrown out of the car and was run over by her stolen car. Her husband Richard ran and jumped on her to cover her as bullets were being shot.

 

Fortunately, Winnie did not suffer any fatal injuries, but she has no medical insurance and will face a lot of medical expenses as she has multiple scans at the hospital already. She has fractured bones in her face, a few broken ribs, has some lung damage and may possibly need surgery to prevent vision damage. She thanks God that the situation was not any worse and considers herself to be lucky. Her heart goes out to the families of whos lives were lost and she maintains the individual who took her was not that bad to her.

 

Any help toward medical expenses would be greatly appreciated. Donations could also help pay for physical therapy and perhaps any psychological therapy. Although Richard and Winnie would probably say they don’t need any psychological therapy, I am hoping if we could raise enough money and that it was already paid for, they may be more inclined to take the therapy for any trauma they may have. I know  Winnie would be really touched by any support and assistance provided, so thank you all for your love and kindness.
