Help Support Garment Producers In India

Donation protected

As you may already know, the situation in India at the moment with Covid is shocking & this has been exacerbated in rural areas. Some of Alcanas garment workers are based in Madhya Pradesh (Rural Central India), & the foundation we work with employs over 80 garment workers & tailors, mainly women from impoverished backgrounds.

We believe that every brand who uses a supply chain, has a responsibility to support and look after those who help create their products, no matter where they are in the world. We believe caring for our global community (especially in such unprecedented times) will transform our future, creating a new narrative for businesses to deeply value and honour every human involved in their supply chain.

After speaking with the founder Nivedita, we realise the Indian governments support with Covid is near non-existent. There are people dying outside hospitals, black market oxygen is rife & our workers who depend on their jobs to survive have been forced into lockdown (with no end in sight)

With this fund raiser we are aiming for $1000 to begin with, with the ultimate goal of at least $5000. This will be distributed between all the workers as food support packages. $5000 should be enough to cover the basic necessities for at least a couple of weeks.

We will be sending some support regardless, but if you have any ability to help in any way at all, Hannah and Shaun from Alcana and all of our Garment workers at "Kumbaya" will forever grateful for your contribution.

Much Love.
Hannah & Shaun
