Help Support the Jolly Family

update from Traci:
This morning our little family gained the best guardian angel. Bobby fought an admirable battle, but his lungs were just too sick and he was give out. Please pray for our family especially our girls. Please be patient with us in returning messages as we disconnect and take time to grieve the loss of the most loving and wonderful husband and father.

We are starting a fund for the Bobby Jolly family. Many of you know my sister, Traci Reed Jolly, as she is from Early, Texas and graduated from Early High in ‘99. Traci is a paramedic for the Snyder, Texas EMS. Her husband Bobby, a long time employee of Lyntegar and volunteer EMT in Tahoka, TX, was transported to Lubbock Monday in Acute Respiratory Distress. He was very critical and intubated and placed on ECMO yesterday. ECMO filters his blood through a machine to get rid of the carbon dioxide and add oxygen allowing his lungs to rest and heal. He will be transported to another large hospital in Dallas later today and be there for several weeks maybe more. Traci and their daughters will incur many expenses as she will have to drive back and forth to be with him and work. Some of you know Bobby has already had to have both hips replaced as well this year depleting his benefits from work. We are usually very private in our family, but these are extenuating circumstances. Bobby and his family could use whatever you feel in your hearts to donate to use for travel, food, utilities, and other expenses. Please pray for him and his complete recovery, for Traci and their girls, Bayle and Peyton, for calmness and peace and comfort as they navigate through this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Love and hugs to all.

UPDATE 6 (9/23 1730): we have had a hard couple of days. They were able to extubate and he did ok for a while, but his lungs are just so sick and his body requires an about of oxygen he cannot meet on his own. He begins working so hard he wears out and becomes so very agitated and exhausted. With his consent they have once again intubated. His lungs and mind need time to rest and heal. Please pray he finds comfort and rest as they do not like much sedation and don't use paralytics once the tube is placed. He married one very stubborn woman and I'm pushing for meds until he appears comfortable. They did do a bronchoscopy and sent off a sample. The Dr. Said he has alot of inflammation inside his lungs but it was otherwise "unremarkable". Progress is going to be very slow going so have patience with my posted updates being delayed. Please pray the girls are able to go to school and work and get through their days knowing God has got this. Pray healing, pain relief, and comfort as well a quality rest over Bobby. Again thank you all for the calls, text, messages, check ins donations and most of all prayers. Keep praying!

UPDATE 5: (9/22 @ 1030): Ok tube is out.. he's mad cuz they won't let him have anything to drink or eat till tomorrow. But it's progress. Now we pray n hope he can maintain with just this high flo nasal cannula. Also pray he is able to rest a bit later this afternoon. He had a tough night with little rest. URGENT prayer request (9/22 @ 1000): the team is attempting extibation right now. Please pray he tolerates a high flow nasal cannula or oxygen support and they can leave the tube out!! Pray plzzz

UPDATE 4: (9/21 @ 2300): Bobby is stable. Today they weaned him off of sedation and woke him up. He did wake up and follows commands ( squeeze hands, move feed, nod/shake his head to questions. Physical therapy came and worked out his muscles in his arms and legs. He does not remember much from the last few days (I'm glad, they have been a struggle) but he does remember he is in a Dallas hospital. He really wants some water (not possible while intubated) and to go to sleep. He wants to go to sleep and wake up when he is well. His Medical team rounds later morning and then we will know the plan for tomorrow. I will keep the updates coming. Pray for comfort patience and healing. We appreciate you all!

UPDATE 3 (9/21 @ 0241): Bobby was safely flown to Dallas this afternoon. Bayle and Jana came up before him and were waiting when he got here as Peyton n I stayed in Lubbock with him until the flight crew left with him. He has tolerated all of the moves well! He is in a great place with very skilled, very knowledgeable, very experienced medical staff and teams. His new team will round later this morning and I will have more of an update then. Please keep the prayers coming I fully believe they are working!!

UPDATE 2 (9/20 @ 1100): He is on ECMO n being flown to Dallas here n a bit then their plan is that he will b there and on ECMO for weeks while we just give him rest and time. We are all stressed, sad but also hopeful and holding it together. For now he needs all the prayers he can get fot comfort and healing. Bayle and Jana have already started heading to Dallas, his sister Vickie will be there also as she lives in Ft. Worth. Peyton and I are at his bedside now and will leave for Dallas once the flight crew leaves with him. This is going to be a long and slow road, but he has had some very small steps of improvement since Nonday and that's improvement so ill take it. We are in this for the long haul and I WILL NOT STOP fighting for him! He married a very strong willed person, we will fight. Updates may get fewer as progress is expected to be very slow and inconsistent. We ask for prayers! Some have asked what the specific needs are so: Lord we ask that you bless the family with traveling mercies. We ask that you bless Bobby with knowledgeable skilled medical staff who allow you do work through them. We ask for patience, comfort and understanding for Peyton and Bayle. We ask that employers are able to continue to be so amazing (they really have our backs) and we ask most of all that you heal Bobby. We pray his acute illness and distress are healed and his chronic illness becomes manageable and the pulmonoloist can prevent progression of the fibrosis. We pray he is able to wake soon and hug us all. These are our needs at this time.

UPDATE 1 (9/19): Now that the girls are here and updated, i will share... Yesterday Bobby went into acute respiratory distress and had to be rushed to Lubbock. He was admitted to ICU and this morning required intubation. His status is precarious and fragile at best. He will be flown to another hospital in a day or so for ECMO which will be initiated later this afternoon. Please pray healing and comfort over him and comfort and calm for the girls. This was sudden and unexpected, to say the least.
