Help Surfside Hero Get Walking and Working Again
Teddy, a crisis response dog from Philadelphia, has spent the past weeks working in Surfside, FL, providing psychological first aid to family and first responders dealing with the disaster there. Sadly, on the morning of Wednesday July 14th, he woke up and quickly lost the ability to walk. X-rays revealed a possible herniated disk in his spine and potential torn ligaments in his knees. Teddy loves providing emotional support to those in crisis, and wants to be walking and working again as soon as possible. His parents needs financial support to provide Teddy the care he needs in the coming weeks. Teddy will be receiving chiropractic, acupuncture and physical therapy and has already been working directly with a number of licensed veterinary clinicians here in Florida, and will continue treatment once he returns to Philadelphia. Through the recommendations of friends and family we have found a number of wonderful veterinarians and veterinary physical therapists already helping Teddy. All proceeds raised will go directly to Teddy's caretakers, and any excess funds will go to the therapy team Teddy belongs to, Crisis Response Canines, a 501c3 in New Jersey.
UPDATE 7/21/21: Thank you all for the overwhelming show of support for Teddy! At this point, since Teddy's medical needs are more than met, we feel it's only right to bring the GoFundMe fundraiser to a completion. If you would still like to make a donation, please feel free to donate directly to Crisis Response Canine's. https://www.crisiscanines.org/ As a reminder, any excess funds from this fundraiser not used for Teddy's care will be donated directly to CRC. Thank you again for your incredible generosity. We are truly humbled.
