Help Susan & Jim

I'm Sami, a friend and colleague of Susan at LA Valley College. Susan, Jim, and cats Max and Molly tragically lost their home in Pacific Palisades this week in the Los Angeles Palisades Fire. Their home and all of their possessions were lost. Thankfully, both of these retired community college professors and their pets are safe and were blessed to be offered temporary housing by a former student.

Though Susan is new to LAVC, she has rapidly become an integral part of our program as well as a student favorite. She spent much of her career as an educator at College of the Canyons, as director, mentor, head of the acting program, teacher. We are so fortunate that her retirement from College of the Canyons allowed an opening for us to bring her amazing personality and talents to LAVC, where she has continued her lifelong passion of training students. Susan has touched so many lives, now is the time for those who cherish her and the gifts she has shared with so many, to come together and help.

This fundraiser aims to help this family get back on their feet with things that won't be covered by FEMA/insurance, and as they navigate their next steps to recover from this unimaginable loss.
