Help Sustain Detroit Writers Guild

Good people of the Detroit & Beyond Literary Community.

The Detroit Writers Guild has been running on a shoestring budget of less than $3,000 per year. We pay all writers and musicians for their services. No one reads for us for free. Please help us continue this longtime tradition. The DWG was started in 1983 by the late community poet and activist Peggy Moore and kept alive by the late Herb Metoyer. He passed the torch to me almost 10 years ago.

Any amount (large or small) is appreciated and helps us continue Poets & Pies, Poetry Under the Stars, Detroit Tonight Live at Aretha's Jazz Cafe, The All Access Cafe for Differently Abled Writers & Musicians, various Literary Walks & Festivals, and much more. We have made this all happen on three grand or less annually. Plus, Republicans will soon vote to abolish 501C3 nonprofits in the arts and community services.
