Help Switchback Open a Gear Library!

Hello, We are Switchback Gear Collective of Carrboro, North Carolina!

Switchback Gear Collective is a non-profit outdoor gear exchange program. Our mission is to reduce barriers to outdoor activities by providing (1) equitable access to low- or no-cost outdoor gear, (2) opportunities to gain knowledge and skills in outdoor recreation and safety, (3) build a community around the importance of movement for physical and mental health, and (4) promote sustainable outdoor recreation in the Triangle area of North Carolina.

We are looking to open the Triangle's first gear library: a low- or no-cost option to borrow outdoor gear, from camping equipment to lawn games to paddle gear and more.

We need help from the community to come up with funds to support this gear library, as well as our secondhand gear pop-ups. We hope to organize more pop-ups (and hopefully establish a gear library) in the future around the Triangle area and increase accessibility to the outdoors for all!
