Help Sylas get to Japan with Team USA
Donation protected
Hi, I am humbly reaching out to ask for help. I am not normally in the habit of asking for things, especially money, but I feel like it is important in this instance.
My son, Sylas, has had an amazing opportunity present itself and I wanted to tell you a little bit more about it. Sylas is 3 years old and he loves nothing more than riding his bike. As most of you know our family is big on cycling and we do it every opportunity we get. Sylas loves riding his bike so much so, that last June we entered him into the Strider Cup in Bentonville, AR. He placed 5th out of 64 in his age category and has now been invited to represent Team USA in the Strider World Cup Race in Osaka, Japan. Sylas was one of 10 children between the ages of 2-6 selected to participate with Team USA.
That being said, our little family is of limited means and we are likely unable to make this trip happen on our own. I am a paralegal for a law firm in Joplin, MO, and my partner/Sylas’ dad, Mikey, has just opened a small-business bicycle repair and retail shop located in Neosho, MO. Mikey and I are humbly reaching out to ask for support not for us, but for our three-year-old son to be able to represent the United States Strider Team in Japan.
I truly believe this would be a life-altering experience for Sylas and honestly, it would be a dream as a parent to watch my son patriciate in something like this. Ideally, we believe we would need $7,500.00 to cover flights, lodging, transportation while in Japan, and meals for our time there.
Will you consider donating to our cause? Could you possibly share our cause with others who may be interested in contributing?
Thank you so much to those who have reached out with interest in helping. I hope creating this gofundme will be an easy way to donate and track our progress and see how close we are to our goal. For those who are interested in following Sylas' journey to Japan, we have created an Instagram account to document this exciting experience for him. You can follow along at @SylasShreds
I'm more than happy to answer any questions. We appreciate any amount and are truly grateful for everyone wishing to help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Zanna and Mikey
