So this post is going to be very hard for our family and especially my sister Tabitha. If anyone knows my sister, you’ll know she’s the most genuine, hard working, prideful, stubborn person you’ll ever meet but she has a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. In 2018, tabitha started having scary things going on, she would smell weird things, do weird things like going out side and laying on the bench, she couldn’t remember something she had just done so she went to the hospital and they admitted her right away & was given a MRI and immediately underwent rescection surgery(brain surgery) with Dr.Weingart to remove 3 tumors on April 30. 2018. Once the bio was completed it was determined it was stage 4 Glioblastoma methylated brain cancer. Tabitha Received radiation/chemo from 5/30/18 to 7/11/18. During that time received multiple transfusions and platelets. However treatment worked by the grace of god and she was in remission. Now if you look up glioblastoma brain cancer it’s not good. Almost 90% of cases don’t live past 18 months. However my sister was a MIRACLE!! She made it another 3 1/2 years! With some bumps during those years with Having multiple strokes n blood cloths in 2020. But she’s a fighter and got through it! But unfortunately….
As of JAN 28,2023 the cancer is back. The tumor is very far deep into the brain so they can not operate. Tabitha Started radiation/chemo again on Feb 14 last day is march 18. This time surgery is NOT an option its to deep in tabs brain. We had a family meeting with Tabitha - my father (Richard Connolly) my brother Rich Connolly, myself, & Missy who is a very close family friend and basically another sister & best friend to Tabitha with Dr. Holdoff on Feb 28th so we could understand the outcome… there’s no easy way to say this but they basically gave my sister a year to live, 2 years max and that’s if treatment does work. This type of brain cancer is very aggressive and it doesn’t stop. We would like to thank neurosurgeon Dr.Weingart, Radiation oncologist Dr. Redmond and especially Dr. Holdoff for getting my sister this far. The hard truth is if she didn’t have this great team from JHH I don’t think we would have even had these last 3 years.
My sister is a very prideful women. She has been a single mom of two beautiful girls and she worked her ass off to provide for her girls and nothing got in her way! She bought her home by her self and worked in the insurance field for over 20 years between Allstate & Liberty Mutual. She is and always has been a very hard worker and when she goes over and Beyond when she has a task to complete, she excels at anything she puts her mind to. Her oldest daughter Madysen attends University of Maine, and her youngest Tay is in high school. My sister never asks anyone for help. But the truth is, since 3 years ago she’s been on disability this cancer has ultimately took her life, her life savings and she barely making it by. Missy and I had to talk her into even letting us set her up a go fund me- her initial response when I brought it up was “No, I don’t want anyone to know or to worry about me. I’ll figure it out.” That’s the person she is.
The expenses of everyday living, children and on top of her fighting for her life- worrying about finances should be the least of her worries. So if you can please donate to my sister. And thing helps, anything! I have also added my sisters Venmo incase you rather send directly to her with out any fees from go fund me. My sister will be the sole beneficiary of this go-fund me!
