Help fund staged reading for my Rock Banjo Opera, SUNNYLAND

Folks I am reaching out to ask you to help with financial support for the next exciting stage in the development of my rock banjo opera, SUNNYLAND.
Two years ago, this month still in the glow of a successful live performance of the first three numbers from SUNNYLAND at the Chatham Arts Council’s JumpstART Walkabout, I was invited to participate in the 2024-25 season of the Process Series. Presented to me with this invitation was the opportunity for a staged reading complete with a chat back in front of a live audience at UNC’s Black Box Theater at Swain Hall. Of course, I said yes.
The staged reading is now officially scheduled for February 7th & 8th, 2025. In preparation I have completed song sketches for 16 new original numbers, begun the second rough draft of the libretto and created original illustrations and designs for online and print media promotions. I have also cast all the roles with either UNC student actors or locally seasoned professionals. And have on tap two very talented locally based musicians to fulfill the role of accompanists for the reading.
There remains however even with all this groundwork laid, some heavy lifting that I need your help with. Cause here’s the thing. The actors and musicians who have committed to taking SUNNYLAND to the next level need to be compensated fairly for their rehearsal time and their live performances.
To adequately do that I’m asking you to help me raise $6000.00. All money raised will go directly to the actors and musicians working to help ensure that full advantage of this amazing opportunity is realized.
I thank you in advance for your generous support. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated. In addition, after you have given would you please consider sharing this campaign with like-minded friends and family? You’re the best!
With peace and much gratitude,
