Help Tall John's Staff During Shutdown
Donation protected
Tall John's needs your help. We can't do business without running water, and that means our staff is looking at an indefinite period without paychecks. While there are public assistance options available that can provide some relief, they are far from adequate to support the loss of income the team faces in this time of crisis.
The realities of the restaurant business mean that we need to be up and running to pay our people. With this mandatory shutdown, we can't meaningfully support them without some help.
If you've dined with us, you know that the people who work at Tall John's make it special. We want our team to be able to come back to work with us as soon as we're able to operate again, and we're asking our friends and guests to extend a helping hand.
Please rest assured that 100% of your donation will go directly to our staff, distributed evenly so everyone gets the same share of the proceeds. Ownership and investors will not receive any payouts from these funds. We will not use them for operating expenses, either. I will write personal checks directly to employees 2 times: once when we hit our initial $20,000 fundraising goal and all those funds are available to be withdrawn, and a second time once we have a firm opening date and we close the fundraiser.
If you're able to give to our staff support fund, everyone at Tall John's would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for being such great friends and supporters.
Sincerely, Trevor Payne (Tall John's Chef/Owner)
PS - if you've never heard of us, we're a restaurant in the Montford neighborhood of Asheville, North Carolina. You can learn more about us at www.talljohns.com
