Help Tammy fight against ovarian cancer

Hi! This is Tiffany, Tammy’s daughter, I am here to help my mom in any way possible to fight ovarian cancer at the young age of turning 52 this year. Not long ago my mom was diagnosed with an extremely rare stomach cancer, a GIST, not only have the doctors here in Erie not known much about the GIST neither have the ones in Pittsburgh… while being on an extremely expensive medication for the GIST they found a mass on her ovary during one of her follow up scans. Doctors were sure it was benign. Tammy pushed to have this mass removed either way in fear of not knowing what this GIST could do. The doctors biopsied the mass and turns out it was an extremely aggressive ovarian cancer that would have given her roughly 3-6 months to live if never found. Ovarian cancer is missed by so many doctors even by the women themselves because the symptoms can be so minimal and “basic” to the normal womanly symptoms we experience monthly. My mom started chemo about a month ago now and has done two rounds so far. The first one didn’t go so well.. she ended up in the hospital during the first week. The second round she had a pretty scary reaction to the treatment. The doctors still aren’t sure if this is going to be the right path as she is now mixing the chemo treatments and the medications from the GIST as they have not worked with patients that have had this situation before. All of this stress has put financial stress of course on Tammy and her family. Husband missing work for chemo appointments, medications, just someone to care for her while she is ill from all of these medical issues she has been having these last few years.
