Help Tanner Thrive,,,,

On Saturday, May 27th, Tanner Ifrid (22) was in a tragic ATV accident that severely injured his spinal cord. What was supposed to be a fun, celebratory weekend with family and friends, suddenly turned into a nightmare. As soon as the accident occurred, Tanner couldn’t feel his legs and screamed for help. By a chance miracle, he was quickly surrounded by off duty medical professionals who jumped into action. Tanner was life flighted to the hospital and underwent a 5 hour surgery to stabilize his spine. In the blink of an eye, the young man who just walked across the graduation stage at San Diego State University and hiked Yosemite with his friends, was now told he was a paraplegic. There is a glimmer of hope since his spinal cord was not severed that with intensive rehab, he may regain some functionality. The road ahead will be long and will have many ups and downs. For the next few months, Tanner will be participating in an intensive inpatient rehabilitation program at Craig Hospital in Englewood Colorado. Afterward, he is looking at ongoing outpatient rehabilitation and therapy, home ADA modifications, vehicle retrofitting, and medical equipment that will allow him to be independent. Tanner is focused on staying positive and giving his all to get back to living his life to the fullest. He needs all the support he can get to ensure he has access to everything he needs to make that possible. We thank you for your donations and prayers towards his rehabilitation and recovery. If you don’t know Tanner… Tanner (or Tan-Man as his family and friends call him) is the most fun loving, gregarious person you’ll ever meet. He truly lives life to the fullest taking advantage of every opportunity to seek out adventure, surf, and have a good time. Tanner graduated from SDSU 3 short weeks ago, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration- Real Estate. This sudden accident has forced him to put his future career on hold to put all his focus and drive towards his recovery.
