Help Tanya and Anthony After Sudden Loss of Alex
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Matt Watkins.
Our good friend Alex Novikov passed away suddenly Sunday, November 28, 2021. He leaves behind his loving wife Tanya and their son Anthony, who has Autism.
This appeal is to assist Tanya and Anthony due to the sudden and unexpected loss of Alex's income. Tanya's ability to work is limited by the amount of care and attention she needs to give to Anthony.
About Alex: He moved to the US from Belarus in 2001 and was our upstairs neighbor in Linden. Anyone who knew us at the time we met would never imagine we'd wind up as great friends (just the nature of shared walls). Any time someone needed help with something, Alex dropped whatever he was doing to lend a hand. Our car broke down in the cold late at night on a Sunday. Our call woke him up but he was still there in fifteen minutes picking us up to go home. Alex walked miles to the train every day so Tanya would be able to use the car to get Anthony to and from where he needed to be.
About Tanya: One of the kindest people we've ever known. Tanya is always smiling and welcoming. Like Alex, she greatly enjoys making other people feel happy and welcome, often flawlessly performing a piece of music on piano after hearing it once. Tanya and Alex were married in Belarus shortly after Alex moved here. They spent more than a year apart while Tanya waited to be cleared to come to the US.
About Anthony: A true reflection of his parents - gentle and loving, focused on his interests and also able to name almost any composer after hearing the first few notes of a piece. Anthony's special needs never stopped him from smiling but they do call for continuous care.
Alex was truly a selfless person and not enough can be said about how much we'll all miss him and how devastating the loss is for Tanya and Anthony. Anything at all is appreciated.
Thank you!
