Help Tara, Rodney & Baby Zephyr

Zephyr Brault McGirt was born to our brother Rodney McGirt and his girlfriend Tara Piscitelli. Zephyr arrived early at 33 weeks on 10.22.2018 weighing just 2 lbs and 2.6 ounces, 12.5 inches long! He is very, very tiny, a micro preemie.  He is tiny but very MIGHTY!  

Baby Zephyr has been stable but in a tough spot because he needs a repaired Coarctation heart surgery immediately to save his life. On his 5th day of life he was picked up at 2am by a jet from Stanford and flew him from New Mexico to CA, as a surgeon has agreed that he can perform this surgery on Zeph at his current weight of 2.2 lbs! Mom and Dad are elated and terrified because one of them was supposed to fly with him and at the last minute they had to take baby Zeph without his mommy and daddy.  They didn't have room for Rodney because they had to make sure medical care was with him first and Tara, since she had a major surgery (C-Section) 5 days prior, did not get cleared to fly yet. Rodney was able to fly out the next day and prayers that Tara will be able to fly out  this week. Baby Zeph is in the best hands at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford and will have this surgery Tuesday October 30, 2018. We are extremely hopeful but welcome all good thoughts and prayers! Following his surgery, he will stay in California for at least 6 weeks, maybe months.  Its a day by day situation.  First we ask for all of your prayers, because Tara, Rodney and Baby Zephyr need them.  

The medical expenses for Baby Zephyr will be astronomical.  Not to mention the fact that Tara and Rodney are leaving their lives behind in Santa Fe, NM to be by their sweet baby boy indefinitely.  At this time we ask that if you are able, please donate to this sweet family as they fight to get their baby healthy and back home.
