Help Tarek Elazhary start his next chapter in the UK ✨

Hi folks, Tamsin here. I'm setting up this fundraising campaign to help my brilliant friend and collaborator Tarek access a truly life-changing opportunity. He's just been endorsed for the Global Talent Visa which will allow him to live and work in the UK for five years, which as he explains below, is an incredible opportunity but also quite scary and expensive.

Setting up life in a new country is full of uncertainties, and the costs are pretty intimidating. Tarek's got the bulk of the visa and NHS charge covered (over £5k!), and I can chip in some to help too, but we also need to make sure he can pay rent and a deposit for a place when he arrives, as well as have money for food and expenses until he can find work.

"Dear friends,

I’m excited to share that I’ve been awarded a Global Talent Visa for the UK! This is an incredible opportunity to grow as a musician and composer, collaborate with inspiring artists, and share the beauty of my cultural heritage with a wider audience. Moving to the UK will allow me to collaborate with talented artists, explore new musical horizons, and share the beauty of our cultural heritage with a global audience.

While I’m thrilled about this next chapter, moving to the UK is also a little scary for me. Starting a life in a new country means stepping into the unknown, which comes with its own difficulties—financially, emotionally, and logistically. The visa process alone costs £5,891, which has placed a significant strain on my resources.

I’ve never done anything like this before, and I feel a little hesitant to ask for support. But this is truly a huge step forward for me and an opportunity I’ve been dreaming about for years. It’s one of the most important chances I’ve had to grow and reach new horizons in my career. That’s why I’ve created this fundraiser—to ask for your help in easing this initial burden.

That said, this is entirely voluntary, and I would never want anyone to feel obligated to give. Simply sharing this message or sending your good wishes is just as valuable to me.
