This fundraiser is to support Taryn in her battle against a rare, aggressive, and advanced form of gynecologic neuroendocrine cancer.
Just a month ago, Taryn, who was previously healthy, received the devastating news that no one wants to hear, “unfortunately, you have a rare cancer.” Since then, she’s confronted her diagnosis with her usual offbeat humor and tenacity, even while preparing for and recovering from a major and extensive surgery.
Taryn and her medical team were hoping that surgery would be the end, not the beginning of, her care, but now we know that Taryn will have to undergo a grueling chemo and radiation treatment in the months ahead. She’s put her life’s plans on pause; she’s left her job to prepare for the next stage of her battle.
In the months ahead, Taryn’s quality of life will be vital to her healing.
