Help Taryn buy a new motorized wheelchair!
Donation protected
My cousin Taryn's current motorized wheelchair is broken and irreparable. She needs a new one desperately. In 2007, when Taryn was 20 years old, she was in a car accident. Her best friend lost her life, and Taryn was rendered an incomplete quadriplegic, paralyzing her from the chest down. This fundraiser is to help cover the cost of a new motorized wheelchair.
We're seeking donations because living expenses are extremely high for people with spinal cord injuries and it will be difficult to come up with the funds otherwise. The Ontario government is covering $36,000 of the $48,000 wheelchair, so Taryn must find a way to cover the outstanding balance.
Taryn, like all people with spinal cord injuries, deserves to live in an accessible world where she can be independent. That will only be possible with a working motorized wheelchair.
Fee Breakdown
Outstanding balance: $10,709.65 + 13% tax ($1,392.25) = $12,101.90
GoFundMe fees: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction = $350.96 + $90 (estimated 300 transactions) = $440.96
Total: $12,101.90 + $440.96 = $12,542.86
