Help Tate get a New Wheelchair
Donation protected
As some of you know in April of 2019 Tate was diagnosed with epilepsy. The seizures seemingly came out of no where and it was a major adjustment. Fast forward to May of 2021 and Tate woke up one day and could barely walk at all. After almost 2 years, orthopedic specialists, neurologists, neurosurgeons and lots of tests we are close to a diagnosis but still not there. Tate’s neurologist is leaning towards Mitochondrial disease that among many other things can cause epilepsy and muscle weakness. Tate finally has a muscle biopsy scheduled to get us closer to confirming. All that said, this all turned life as we knew it upside down. In trying to adjust we were able to get Tate a generic wheelchair but with as much as he is in it we realize he needs something more customized to him. The chair he has been fitted for is much more light weight and easier for him to use independently. It is also much more comfortable for him to sit in for extended periods of time. It will make a big difference in his quality of life day to day. The chair after insurance is going to cost us $3700.00 that we just do not have. So we’re asking for help. We know that things are tight for everyone right now so any amount donated would be much appreciated. Thank you all.
