Fundraiser for Tavish Wetherill [Spinal Cancer]

Back in 2015 our dear friend Tavish Wetherill was diagnosed with brain cancer. After a complex surgery to remove his tumor, along with grueling physical and occupational therapy, Tavish was able to walk across the stage and graduate from Topsail High School with his senior class. Since then he has attended classes at App State and worked at a local surf shop.

At the end of May 2023, he and his family discovered that the brain cancer had returned and metastasized to multiple locations. Unfortunately there have not been any significant advances for recurrent patients with his condition since his initial diagnosis, and the prognosis is not what any of us would have hoped for. The current treatment options available are designed to forestall the progression of this miserable disease. Tavish’s timeline is uncertain but there is always HOPE!

Tavish wants to retain his normal life but would also like to travel. He and his family have one goal - have as many good days as possible. Recently Tavish and his parents were able to spend some time in Chile. It was an extraordinary opportunity for them to experience a new culture, enjoy a change of pace and have an opportunity to create precious and invaluable memories together.

Our goal is twofold. We want to help Tavish and his family enjoy the wonders of adventure, those typically made over a lifetime. And we want to help raise funds to cover their imminent medical bills. Anything you are able to donate will be deeply appreciated!
