Taylor Rossmoore VS Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Taylor Rossmoore or if you know me, I go by Tross. I have a wife, Madison and the cutest 17 month old blue eyed daughter named Noah.

Life really changed pretty quickly and became challenging when there was a new health update for me from a new Neurologist named Dr. Hella. She mentioned that they recently found a "Brain Tumor" and it was in my best interest to get a second opinion from the Mayo Clinic down in Jacksonville Florida, and that's exactly what I did. I was then given an MRI with contrast, a Functional MRI with contrast and shortly afterwards I was able to set but an appointment that same week with the Mayo Clinic NeuroSurgery team and discuss with them what was going on and what they thought was the best option moving forward.

So what was the best option? The best option was to get in front of the best Neurosurgeon team in the world (Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, M.D.) and discuss the possible outcomes, and that's what we did. We talked about how successful the awake brain resection surgery was going to be and how quickly recovery would happen. Since leaving the hospital on April 9th the road to recovery is just now starting and in April we actually received a real diagnosis.

On Wednesday April 17th, I had a meeting with the Oncology team and the diagnosis was a left brain tumor, excision: oligodendroglioma, IDH-mutant, 1p/19q codeleted, WHO Grade 3. Immunostains are positive for IDH1 ( R132H) and show retained expressions of ATRX; p53 stain shows a wildtype expression pattern. Immunostain for CD34 is negative and MIB-1 proliferation index is 13.0%. - Oligodendroglioma . While this is a rare type of cancer, unfortunately, there is also no cure at this point.

What are the next steps?

Well, the next steps are to beat Cancer and that’s what I’m going to do!

Our plan of action is to be aggressive and swift by starting chemotherapy and radiation therapy combined they will both be swift, and effective.

Everything starts May 1st.
CAT-scans/PET-scans/MRIs, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The recommended program is Cycle one- Radiation therapy and Chemo for 5 days a week for 6 1/2 weeks, consisting of 33 sessions. We welcome you to check back for more updates weekly during this Cycle one program.

This is my story, this is my testimony if you want to know more about Oligodendroglioma, please click here: http://www.cancer.gov/rare-brain-spine-tumor/tumors/oligodendroglioma

I am a FIGHTER!!

No one is not going to tell me how to live my life for my family.

But if God allows me to share my testimony for others to hear, I’ll make it loud enough.

If you are not able to donate monetarily, please keep our Rossmoore family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for your unwavering support and love.
