Becoming a professional tour player is an incredibly hard career to break into, you must be a highly talented elite golfer, have strong mental resilience to compete against other elite golfers and committed to practice every day of the week. In addition, you have to work part time to fund playing in each tournament as well as funding your travel, food and hotel costs. Before you earn any money in a tournament you have to compete against 180 other elite golfers and then only after beating them to reach the top 50 players do you have the opportunity of winning any prize money at all .
About me
I have been playing golf since I was 5 and as a junior and elite golfer representing BB&O county golf on many occasions, which I am extremely proud of. I matched Tyrrell Hatton’s course record of 65 in his first junior open at my home club Harleyford golf club, where I have been a member since the age of 8. As well as an undefeated national appearance I have achieved many wins in the top county events, this year this included winning my first Clutch Pro Tour event where I shot rounds of 67, 66 and 69 for a 202 total. This -14 score was good enough to beat the field of ex-tour players, Walker Cup players and other 2023 Clutch Tour winners by 2 strokes. I first got into golf when my Dad took me to a local driving range at the age of 6 and brought me a 9 iron, it was clear from then that this was something I enjoyed. I decided to turn professional in October 22 when I felt that it was the right time to take on the challenges a pro golfer entails. There are several professional golfers that I admire for various reasons but one that close to my heart is Tyrrell, to see him go from strength to strength and make it out on the circuit has been a joy to follow as a local golfer. My 2024 calendar is already looking busy, I will play some events in Portugal early next year to help with my winter training. My aim this year is to progress on to the next tour.
