Help Taylor Recover
Don protégé
On November 29th, my world stopped. My 26-year-old daughter, Taylor, was in Florida spending Thanksgiving with her boyfriend’s family when I got the call no mother ever wants to receive: “We’re calling an ambulance. She’s drifting in and out of consciousness.”
Taylor had fallen gravely ill, her blood pressure dangerously low, and her life hanging by a thread. In the ER, doctors discovered internal bleeding and immediately gave her blood transfusions to stabilize her. Her condition was so severe, she had to be airlifted to a larger hospital for emergency surgery to try to save her life.
The surgeons were successful in locating the bleed and repairing the damage to her ruptured organ. In the process they removed over two litres of blood from her abdomen, saving her life. Taylor spent many days in the ICU, fighting to recover, and is now slowly regaining her strength. The hospital staff call her their Miracle Child, and while I’m endlessly grateful she’s still here, she faces a long road ahead.
Taylor has to remain in Florida until doctors clear her to fly, as she’s too fragile to endure a flight home to Canada. She sends wishes to her family and loved ones back home, as she has little hope she will make it back for Christmas. As a Canadian without U.S. health insurance, she is now burdened with overwhelming medical bills- a cost no one should ever have to bear alone.
I’m raising funds to help cover the care that saved my daughter’s life. Taylor is a kind-hearted, selfless person who has spent her life helping others, and now she needs your help.
Please donate if you can, and share her story. Every dollar, every share, brings us closer to easing this unimaginable burden. I will be running Taylor's loungewear company “Reframed Loungewear” for the time being and all proceeds from her website will also be put towards her medical bills. From the depths of my heart, her family and her friends thank you for helping save my little girl.
