Support to Save and Restore Taylor's eye and Vision

Our beautiful daughter, who recently graduated high school and celebrated her 18th birthday, was involved in a tragic event this past 4th of July. While we were gathered at a barbecue, and without any warning, someone nearby lit a powerful firework which seemed to have malfunctioned and exploded at near ground level and hit our daughter in the eye.

Taylor underwent an emergency surgery at a trauma hospital and has a complete loss of vision to one of her eyes. We met with many ophthalmologist surgeons, and they have all confirmed that the damage was severe. Taylor will need to undergo more complicated and challenging surgeries to save her eye itself and her vision.

In a short amount of time, our family was forced to learn about this complex human organ, the eye. Little did we know, there are many specialists to treat different parts of our eye. Many of us take our eyesight for granted until one day it gets taken from us.

Prior to this incident, Taylor had perfect vision, not only in her eyes, but also for her path in life. She was on her way to college next month as a nursing student and eager to start a new chapter in life as an adult. She was working at Kaiser as a volunteer and got hired as an intern in Pediatrics unit. Taylor's dreams and aspirations have suddenly been placed on hold, and our lives have been completely turned upside down.

We pray every day and every minute for God's healing, peace and strength to move forward. We have found few surgeons who we felt would best treat and care for Taylor's eye, but the costs are non-negotiable. We humbly and sincerely thank you for your prayers and donations to help fund the surgeries to save her eye and vision.
